Nobody

Nothing

Aaron Alviso Stephenson is a Salt Lake City based filmmaker who like his childhood heroes of the cinema comes from nothing and is a nobody. Even the heroes with a divine heritage lose everything at the beginning of the story whether they know it, or not. Everyone must be brought low, or else none of us could rise. The one thing he has been blessed with is a heritage of grit and tenacity, or maybe it’s a thick headedness to not give up? Either way, he chose the path of the filmmaker, but like the modern day samurai there are no real battles anymore, only romanticized stories about the good fight. This is what captured his curiosity: that maybe it is not really the battles, but the stories that come after them that actually matter? Stories shape us, they cast light on every aspect of humanity; the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Through struggle and strife he has carved out a meager career always striving to fulfill the calling of his muse. This lead him to LA and back again, attending graduate school for film production at the prestigious Art Center College of Design. For many years he’s produced independent films, pilots, commercials, and way too many stand up comedians specials.

Currently he’s written and will be directing a psychological horror feature film, ‘Mothers’ with an anticipated release in fall of 2025.

Oh, and he’s also married with three children. The familia was always part of his plan it just didn’t happen the way he thought it would.

Much like the path of the filmmaker

Every good movie has a good fight. A fight for love, a fight for freedom, a fight to do what’s right, or just to be less of a piece of shit. I fight the good fight.

¡VIVA EL CINE!
